LEADERS IN TRAINING
LIT
Widget Works LIT Program (Leaders In Training) is designed for the preteens/teens in our community to have a place where they can learn what it feels like to be a mentor and have a future job. Widget Works is adamant about providing support and encouragement for all ages and believes in the “big brother/big sister” mentorship design. Our counselors and directors care and value each child and teen in our community and believe it is important to set up a good role model foundation so not only are our teens supported and encouraged in their everyday lives but they will have the opportunity to support and encourage the younger campers in their communities. Our LIT program is designed for our teens to know they have a base of mentors they can turn to and who are always there to provide assistance, encouragement, support, and the friendship they need. This program will help our teens learn what it feels like to work under management while having a blast! This is the perfect program for beginners in the work force, someone who wants to give back to their community, and someone looking for a fun, exciting, fulfilling summer!
Our high school students, Leaders in Training, will have the opportunity to learn about themselves and their community through our active service. Our Leaders in Training will be able to apply their own knowledge to help improve the lives of our younger children. Each Leader in Training will have the opportunity to learn and practice problem solving skills (such as conflict resolution), working with others, learning the importance of their impact on their community, becoming a role model, and learning how truly valuable they are to this community. Throughout the summer these Leaders in Training will help serve their community by providing children of their community a safe, encouraging, and love-filled environment.
Are you a rad teen looking for a fun place to work this summer?
